12 July
Disastrous news from yesterday when the East Essex 13 became the East Essex 12. Poor Ian Steddon, 2 minutes into the pre race bike ride clipped a kerb and fell, breaking his clavicle in 2 places. Austria NHS were great as was Mark who was staying at the hotel for the race who had great first aid knowledge.

So to today and the race brief followed by Ironkids. EETC kids out in force with s great 2nd for Hannah Shean and 3rd for Matt Brown

Next report will be just before the start (6am) UK time

2 days to go and all have now registered. Bad news as asthma stopped Gary LB travelling but everyone else is raring to go but in varied states of nerves (except Zena who is p'd off about everything). Update tomorrow

Just 8 days to go before 14 intrepid members of East Essex take on the challenge of the Ironman Austria for the glory and the medal.
