The club has a open policy to anyone from any area to join us,
all our members come from different communities in the area,
this lead us to have a wealth of knowledge of each other area.
This enables all the children to interact with other people from these different areas they
would otherwise not be able to, this leads to friendships and understanding.

Club members ages 11+ will also be registered with UK Athletics.

England Athletics has launched a new Club Mark website section and are profilling Benfleet Jnrs Clubmark Case Study.

Some of you might have seen the (small) article in the June Runners' World magazine about the Junior Club.

We now have all the photographs taken from the photo shoot.

The club has been awarded Sport England's Clubmark, which is awarded to clubs by National Governing Bodies (NGB) when the club is able to demonstrate that it meets the NGBs criteria as to playing programme; safeguarding and protecting children; sports equity and ethics and club management.

Our Clubmark Award is an acknowledgement that we take these issues seriously and that we are striving to provide a high quality and welcoming environment for young participants in the sport.

Our club Junior Co-ordinator is responsible for ensuring that our child protection policy is implemented and can be contacted should you have any concerns.

As you can imagine this involves a lot of paperwork, and policies that we need to adhere to, and you need to read and sign policies relevant to you as a parent / carer and also your junior member needs to read, understand and sign.

We welcome parents to all training and competitions and value your support.

We are keen to try and involve parents in the club.

All coaching is by qualified coaches who are trained

and have been screened for their suitability for working with young people,

and have clearance through the Criminal Records Bureau Enhanced Disclosure policy.
